Library Instruction

Buley Library offers a variety of library research instruction opportunities in the use of its resources and services to all members of the University community. The Subject Specialist Librarians provide course related and individual instruction, teaching students how to better locate, evaluate, and use information, in order to become independent, life-long learners.

Instruction Services

Classes - sessions held during a class period in which a librarian instructs the class on resources and techniques that will be useful for completing the assignments; Schedule a session for your course with a Subject Specialist librarian; What happens during a Library Instruction Class?

Individual sessions - one-on-one sessions between a student, faculty, or staff member and a librarian on a particular project, such as a paper; Schedule a one-on-one session with a Subject Specialist librarian.
Tours - what's in the library and how does the library fit in to the classroom experience; Buley Library Tours; Virtual Tour (under construction for new library)
Online Tutorial - a web-based tutorial designed to teach Connecticut State University students fundamental information skills in a series of three modules; BILT-Basic Information Literacy Tutorial
