Library Policies of Especial Interest
to Distance Education Students
- Circulation
- The Circulation Department handles circulating
(normal check out) materials in the Buley Library and from the other CSU libraries.
Books are checked out at the Circulation Desk in the Library. Books can be
sent to other CSU libraries. SCSU books can be sent to out of state students.
See the Access
Services for Distance Education page for full polices.
- Interlibrary Loan
- Interlibrary Loan obtains copies of books that
are not in the CSU system and photocopies from materials not in the Buley
Library. Interlibrary Loan will copy and send articles from the books and
journals in the library collection for out of state students. See the Access
Services for Distance Education page for full polices.
- Database Access
- Most of our databases are available off campus.
You will need your University ID number (8 digit number on the new
SCSU cards) and you library PIN. If you do not have a card your ID number
should have been mailed to you. Library staff cannot tell you your ID number.
See Accessing Databases from Off-Campus for more
information. If you have forgotten your library PIN, call the Circulation
Desk for help at 203-392-5756.
See Circulation:
Your Library Record in CONSULS, PINs, Address Changes, Confidentiality
for more information.
-
- On site computer access
- Most computers in the library require you to
log in. Your login name is your email ID (usually last name, first initial,
and a number) and your email password. Library staff cannot tell you or reset
your password. Contact the Computer Help Desk at http://helpdesk.southernct.edu/
(including an automated
link for resetting your network PIN and for finding
your login name) or (203) 392-5223 for information on your network and
email account.
